Associate of Arts with a Concentration in Addictions

The Department of Addictions Counseling, Prevention, and Human Services offers a minor in addictions for students pursuing any bachelor’s degrees. The minor, in addition to a degree in psychology, criminal justice, social work, and nursing, fulfills the educational requirement for the Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor III (LCDC III) in Ohio. The department also offers an Associate of Arts with a Concentration in Addictions that fulfills the educational requirement for the Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LCDC II) in Ohio. These programs provide a quality educational base to prepare students for a career in addictions counseling. Licensure also requires counseling-related work experience hours and a passing score on the ADC exam.
