BSc (Hons) Professional Policing
Our BSc (Hons) Professional Policing courses have been developed by staff with decades of experience in the Police service. Every aspect of the new training has been created by the College of Policing working with forces and serving police officers. The courses follow the National Policing Curriculum and provide you with the skills and knowledge to apply to become a police officer.
You can choose to study BSc (Hons) Professional Policing on our two-year accelerated route; a fast track option to your career in policing. In just two years, you will be equipped to meet all the responsibilities and challenges to apply for a rewarding career in policing.

In September 2019, the government pledged £750 million with the intention to recruit 20,000 police officers over a three year period. This degree has been designed and will be taught by our staff with significant experience in the Police Service. 2 Years PSW is applicable after the course completing (Bachelors level or above)
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
To study for a University of Sunderland degree you need to meet the course entry requirements.
If English is not your first language you should have at least one of the following qualification (or equivalent) as a minimum:
International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
Generally, the course requirements will be a minimum score of 6.0, with at least 5.5 or higher in each component: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
Any score above 180.
Cambridge Certification in Advanced English (CAE)
No score lower than 170.
O-Level English Language or GCSE English Language
You need grade C or above (UK Exam board).
Malaysian SPM 119
You need grade 6 or above (only grades 1, 2 or 3 are acceptable for Law).
Degree or HND taught in English for Postgraduate students
Proof of qualification is required.
Trinity Integrated Skills in English (ISE) II
You need Merit or Distinction.
