This highly practical two-year course allows you to develop your career in health and social care. You'll develop a detailed understanding of health and social care policy and practice, which you can use straight away in any workplace that involves caring for individuals and communities.

Health and social care is a diverse field, with opportunities to specialise in areas such as young people, mental health, or drug and alcohol abuse support.
Academic qualifications in Health and Social Care allow you to work in the NHS, charities such as Age UK and MIND, social care organisations such as Turning Point, and other public, private and voluntary sector health agencies.
Some careers, such as social work, nursing or occupational therapy, require additional academic and professional qualifications. When you have completed this Foundation Degree, you will have the opportunity to 'top up' to a BA (Hons) undergraduate degree.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
To study for a University of Sunderland degree you need to meet the course entry requirements.
If English is not your first language you should have at least one of the following qualification (or equivalent) as a minimum:
International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
Generally, the course requirements will be a minimum score of 6.0, with at least 5.5 or higher in each component: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
Any score above 180.
Cambridge Certification in Advanced English (CAE)
No score lower than 170.
O-Level English Language or GCSE English Language
You need grade C or above (UK Exam board).
Malaysian SPM 119
You need grade 6 or above (only grades 1, 2 or 3 are acceptable for Law).
Degree or HND taught in English for Postgraduate students
Proof of qualification is required.
Trinity Integrated Skills in English (ISE) II
You need Merit or Distinction.
