BA (Hons) Social Work is the essential first step to becoming a qualified Social Worker. When you have graduated, you will be eligible to apply for registration as a social worker with Social Work England.
Social Workers improve the lives of a huge range of people. For example, you could work with people with learning difficulties, children and families, older people, people who have problems with drug and alcohol misuse, people who experience mental health problems, or disabled people.

BA (Hons) Social Work is a highly practical qualification. After graduation you will be eligible to apply for registration as a social worker with Social Work England.
Social Work is a very broad discipline. You could work with older people, young offenders, people with mental health issues, foster carers, children at risk of abuse, or any other individuals at risk of harm to themselves or others.
Social Workers work in a variety of organisations including local authorities, NHS Trusts, residential care, schools, the voluntary and private sector.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
To study for a University of Sunderland degree you need to meet the course entry requirements.
If English is not your first language you should have at least one of the following qualification (or equivalent) as a minimum:
International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
Generally, the course requirements will be a minimum score of 6.0, with at least 5.5 or higher in each component: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
Any score above 180.
Cambridge Certification in Advanced English (CAE)
No score lower than 170.
O-Level English Language or GCSE English Language
You need grade C or above (UK Exam board).
Malaysian SPM 119
You need grade 6 or above (only grades 1, 2 or 3 are acceptable for Law).
Degree or HND taught in English for Postgraduate students
Proof of qualification is required.
Trinity Integrated Skills in English (ISE) II
You need Merit or Distinction.
