Politics is all around us, shaping our world as well as our everyday lives.

This course will give you insight, knowledge and understanding of the role politics plays at local, national and global levels. With our internationally-renowned experts, you’ll gain both the practical and the theoretical knowledge you’ll need to understand and influence our world.

Choose from a wide range of module options, including British Government and Politics, Global Comparative Politics, Politics in Action, Comparative Local Government and Power, Politics and Morality.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Entry criteria

  • A typical offer is 112 UCAS points. You need to study at least two subjects at A-level or equivalent (eg BTEC)
  • Plus, five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English Language and Maths

Alternative qualifications include:

  • Pass Access with 30 Level 3 credits at Merit (or equivalent) with English (Language or Literature) and Maths GCSE required as separate qualifications at grade 4

We will normally require students to have had a break from full-time education before undertaking the Access course

  • International Baccalaureate: 26+ points

India

  • Minimum of 65% average in your four best subjects (excluding Hindi) in Standard 12. We may also check your standard 10 results in English and Maths.
  • For Engineering courses, you will need a minimum of 60% in Maths. 

2nd year - 3rd-year Undergraduate:

  • Entry to year 2 or 3 may be possible. You will need to supply detailed information including courses taken, grades achieved, syllabus, and a grading guide.

Sri Lanka

  • 55-65% in three A-levels, depending on the course you choose.
