Diploma of Music Industry – Performance

This qualification is designed for people interested in further developing their knowledge of the music industry and learning more about the creative process. It aims to further develop skills in the technical and theoretical aspects of music, performance, composition, recording, improvisation, business, and management. CUA50815 Diploma of Music can lead to a career in the music industry, further musical studies, and is a nationally recognized qualification.

It is an ideal way to further study music, for those people who hold a CUA40915 Certificate IV in Music Industry or a pre-tertiary music qualification and people who have worked in the music industry and wish to refine their skills or gain a qualification.

The course covers a variety of essential skills needed for a career in the music industry. Music is both an industry and an art form, meeting cultural and recreational needs while also offering employment opportunities across many sectors: recording, publishing, retail, radio, television, film, video, advertising, computer software, multimedia, teaching, and of course, performance. Students studying this qualification will perform Music within the general community and work on real and simulated industry experiences. Students will be required to work independently (with guidance) on personal music performance skills and will work in studio environments recording and producing individual projects and in collaboration with others.
