Certificate II in Aquaculture
If you want to pursue a career working with fish and other sea species, then start by enrolling in the Certificate II in Aquaculture. This course allows you to pursue your passion for aquatic life by teaching you the practical skills and knowledge to assist in the care and maintenance of fish stocks.
You will learn about food handling, controlling pests and diseases, handling and harvesting stock, maintaining the water environment, and applying chemicals and biological agents to ensure fish stocks survive. You will be able to plan and build an aquaculture system whilst acquiring the expertise to care for and breed salt and freshwater fish at various developmental stages. The TAFE WA campuses that offer this course have extensive aquaculture facilities with experienced staff that will provide you with plenty of hands-on training and opportunities.

Geraldton is a vibrant regional city located on the historic Batavia coast, with scenic rolling hills and breakaway ranges to the east, and Chapman and Greenough Rivers to the north and south. Geraldton campus facilities include childcare, a training restaurant, library, bookshop, café, and well-equipped computer labs. There is on-campus student accommodation available at Pepperell Village.
