If you enjoy making delicious pastries and cakes, then SIT31016 Certificate III in Patisserie is the perfect course for you. It will give you the skills to work as a Patissier or Pastry Chef in a range of outlets such as Patisserie’s, Restaurant’s or Hotel’s.
You will gain the knowledge and experience to work fast and effectively in a commercial kitchen team and be able to plan, prepare and bake mouth-watering cakes, tarts, petits fours, pastries, and chocolates. This course also covers the standards for food safety programs, hygiene, cleaning and sanitation, first aid and workplace health and safety.
By the end of your studies, you will have a strong understanding in mixing methods and the baking / cooking requirements needed to produce cakes and other pastries using baking equipment and machinery in fully-equipped professional facilities. You will develop creativity, flair and an eye for detail and will be able to create desserts, pastries and speciality cakes.
