Integrated PhD in Nursing & Midwifery at VU
Our integrated program offers an alternative path to a doctoral degree in Nursing and Midwifery. During your first year, you’ll learn best-practice research methods. On passing the first-year components with a 70% average, you’ll begin your own original research, graduating in the standard timeframe.
We’ll continue to support you throughout your research in community, clinical-practice, education or policy areas. Our connections with local, medical and government organisations give you real-world research opportunities. In the 2015 Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) assessment, our nursing research was ranked ‘well above’ world standard.
You’ll learn to present your findings clearly and effectively – in your thesis, journals and public presentations. Career opportunities include working in healthcare management, academia, government or local-community settings.
