INTEGRATED Ph.D. IN BUSINESS & MANAGEMENT AT VU

If you're a graduate without research experience, our integrated Ph.D. offers a pathway to a doctoral degree in business and management. In your first year, you’ll receive intensive research training. On passing with a 70% average in coursework and a thesis, you’ll begin your own original research, completing your Ph.D. in the standard four years.

You’ll choose your thesis topic from our research focus areas, benefiting from our expertise, support, and industry contacts. You’ll learn to present your findings as a thesis, and through international and local presentations and publications.

City Flinders

City Flinders Campus is a modern building in the centre of Melbourne’s busy central business district (CBD) You could be studying courses as diverse as osteopathy and business at this campus. It is opposite Melbourne’s grand Flinders Street Station, the Yarra River and the Southbank precinct. The campus is a perfect location for transport, shopping, food and cafes, or to hold a special event at our our Convention Centre.

Footscray Nicholson

Footscray Nicholson Campus is a few minutes' walk from the Footscray train station. This relaxed and friendly campus has an emphasis on TAFE courses, run through VU Polytechnic. It's easy to find your way around – there is a brand new learning commons with a library and study spaces. We also have childcare facilities and a recreation centre.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Completion of an Australian Bachelor Honours Degree (AQF8), or equivalent, in a different discipline to the proposed research with average grades of at least H2A/Distinction (70% or above on the Victoria University grading scale) for the final year
OR
Completion of an Australian Masters degree (AQF9), or equivalent, undertaken by coursework in any discipline, not including a thesis, with average grades of at least H2A/Distinction (70% or above on the Victoria University grading scale)
OR
Completion of an equivalent combination of academic and research achievements such as relevant industry experience, research experience evidenced by peer review publications or the completion of a high-level research project, in a different discipline to the proposed research, deemed to be equivalent to any of the above entry requirements
OR
Any of the Admission Requirements as listed in the PhD.
