Ontario College Diploma - Business

The two-year Business program is the optimal way for students to begin their business education and set themselves up for several career paths. Students looking to work in an existing organization, take over a family-run business or start their own business, will find that this program offers all the important foundational courses.

In the first year, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of business management with courses including marketing, human resources, accounting, computer applications, global business principles, and ethics. Second-year will expand on these foundations with advanced business courses that all organizations consider essential. Students will study current trends and issues in social media marketing, organizational behavior, business intelligence, business law, operations management, and economics.

This program allows for maximum flexibility as students can transfer into the three-year Business Administration - General program at any time. After term 1, students can move directly into term 2 of the two-year Business - Accounting or the three-year Business Administration-Accounting programs.

Campus Information

Sarnia/Main Campus

Lambton College’s Main Campus is located in Sarnia, Ontario and the main building on-site is the South Building where the majority of the classrooms and staff and faculty offices are located. In addition to the South Building, the main campus is also home to the Suncor Sustainability Centre, the Lambton College Residence and Event Centre, the Sustainable Smart Home, the Skilled Trades Training Centre and the North Building.

Toronto

Lambton opened a Lambton in Toronto for international students who were looking for an opportunity to study in Toronto. Lambton in Toronto was opened in partnership with Cestar College who is licensed to administer the curriculum. International students taking programs in Toronto will be learning in a challenging, but friendly environment designed to meet the specific needs of an international student. Lambton offers smaller class sizes, flexible instruction hours and affordable tuition fees.

If your program was more than 8 months but less than 2 years

We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.

For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.

If your program was 2 years or more

We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.

If you completed more than 1 program

You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.

Each of the programs you completed -

must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

O.S.S.D. or equivalent with:

Grade 12 English C or U
Grade 11 or 12 Mathematics C or U

Mature applicants must be at least 19 years of age by the start of classes, be out of secondary school for at least one year and usually do not have a high school diploma. Mature applicant assessment for this program is available in the Counselling Department in the subjects of English and Maths. The assessment(s) will demonstrate proficiency in required admission subjects. For more information please contact the Counselling Department at ext 3412. Academic admission requirements can be obtained through Academic Upgrading and Pre-Programs at Lambton College.

English Language Proficiency Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate language proficiency by submitting one of the following scores:

IELTS of 6.0;
TOEFL iBT 69; or
Passed Lambton Institute of English placement test.

Please Note: IELTS is the only proficiency score accepted by the Study Direct Stream (SDS) program. Additional country-specific requirements may also be applicable.

Meeting the minimum English requirements does not guarantee admission. Students with higher English proficiency scores will receive priority in the admission assessment process.
