MATHEMATICS AND PHYSICS - BSC (HON)

On this course you will explore the beauty, elegance and practicality of pure mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics. You will learn to use maths for a range of purposes which may include developing precise and logical arguments, constructing rigorous proofs, and formulating solutions to new problems. You will study in an intellectually stimulating environment amongst other mathematicians. Your skills will be in demand wherever there’s a need for logical thinking.

A Mathematics and Physics degree is a springboard for many careers. You will have gained a broad base of scientific and mathematical knowledge together with much valued versatility in problem solving and quantitative reasoning. This course provides the solid background needed for scientific research, engineering, industry, management, software development, health and teaching. Employment as a science writer, chartered accountant or IT consultant are other possible routes. Many of our graduates go on to further study, either at Master’s or PhD level.

A LEVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • A Level requirement ACC - to include Maths at grade A and Physics at grade C or above. If Physics is not taken, please contact us for advice

GCSE REQUIREMENTS

  • Maths at C (or 4)
  • English at C (or 4)

BTEC

  • BTEC requirements DMM

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE

  • 29 points to include Higher Level Maths at 6 and Higher Level Physics at 5. If Maths is presented without Physics please contact Admissions.

ACCESS TO HE DIPLOMA REQUIREMENTS

  • Obtain Access to Higher Education Diploma with 112 UCAS Tariff points including a minimum of 30 Level 3 credits at Distinction. You must have taken sufficient Maths/Physics units

India

CISCE / CBSE / West Bengal Class XII: 60% - 90% required depending on course. Plus any subject-specific requirements. 

All other State Boards Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) / Standard Class XII: 65% - 95% required depending on course. Plus any subject-specific requirements. 

2 years of study must have been completed.

English Requirements

CISCE/CBSE Class XII: 70% or above in English, depending on course.

All other State Boards Class XII (except Punjab or Mohali School Education Board): 75% or above in English, depending on course.

Must have been completed within the last 5 years.

The study should be taught in English. Otherwise, IELTS is required.
