RADIOGRAPHY (DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING) - BSC (HONS)

This course prepares you for an exciting career path. It will equip you with the skills to work at the cutting edge of technology within the medical sector. Diagnostics play a vital role in every patient's care pathway and for approximately 90% of all patients, this will involve some form of diagnostic imaging performed by radiographers.  

Not only will you learn the techniques to produce accurate and timely diagnostic images, you will also learn to understand and manage the patient’s needs, delivering evidenced based care safely and effectively. You will learn about the science and technology of diagnostic imaging and how this impacts this dynamic field of clinical practice.  

By studying radiography at Keele you will also benefit from integrating with healthcare students from other professions in the faculty, promoting the importance of working in a multidisciplinary team.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

GENERAL INFORMATION
Students should normally be 18 and over on commencement of their study due to the clinical elements of the programme.  

Application Process: Application is via UCAS. The UCAS application is scored. Subject to initial scoring you may be invited to interview after which a decision is made in regards to offers.

Candidates who are successful at the initial stage of selection will be required to satisfy Occupational Health clearances and an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance.

The University follows the DBS Code of Practice in these issues and can provide a copy of the Code on request.

GCSE (or equivalent) requirements: Applicants will normally be required to hold at least six GCSEs (or equivalent) taken at one sitting, at grade C or above (grade 4 or above in the reformed GCSEs (England) including: Mathematics, English Language, Combined or Single Science subjects

Normally you should have obtained your GCSE level qualifications before applying. Please note that we do not accept equivalent qualifications for Mathematics and English Language, and no longer accept Level 2 Key Skills/Functional Skills.

English Requirements: If you are an international applicant and English is not your first language you will need an IELTS score of 7.0 or higher (with no single subset below 6.5)

Science practical: 

A pass in Science Practical will be required if taking A level Biology, Chemistry or Physics (England). General studies, Critical Thinking are not accepted.

Deferred Entry applications: Deferred entry applications will be considered.

India

CISCE / CBSE / West Bengal Class XII: 60% - 90% required depending on course. Plus any subject-specific requirements. 

All other State Boards Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) / Standard Class XII: 65% - 95% required depending on course. Plus any subject-specific requirements. 

2 years of study must have been completed.

English Requirements

CISCE/CBSE Class XII: 70% or above in English, depending on course.

All other State Boards Class XII (except Punjab or Mohali School Education Board): 75% or above in English, depending on course.

Must have been completed within the last 5 years.

The study should be taught in English. Otherwise, IELTS is required.
