Master of Petroleum Geoscience

Perth is located at the heart of the oil and gas industry in Australasia and is close to the major petroleum-producing regions of South East Asia. You'll benefit from UWA’s geographic proximity and our collaborative research relationships with this important industry.

This course will enable you to develop skills in geological and geophysical data analysis and integration of datasets related to sedimentary basin analysis and petroleum geoscience. Emphasis is placed on the development of practical skills underpinned by conceptual knowledge, and the application of both to solving problems related to basin history and petroleum exploration through coursework and research project components of the course.

You'll have the opportunity to access industry datasets and tools and use latest digital technology to develop advanced skills in the analysis of geoscientific data, as well as guest lectures by industry professionals. This course focuses on the knowledge and skills to solve real-world problems in the field of petroleum geoscience.
