Industrial and Organisational Psychology is a specialist area that applies psychological knowledge and skills to workplaces, with the aim of improving organisational effectiveness and the quality of work life.
The Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Industrial and Organisational Psychology is a combined course offering a full four year program of doctoral research with the Master of Industrial and Organisational Psychology. The master's component includes nine coursework units, and 1000 hours of practical placement spread over three settings.
Industrial and Organisational Psychology is a specialist area that applies psychological knowledge and skills to workplaces with the aim of improving organisational effectiveness and the quality of work life. The specialty focuses on deriving principles of individual, group and organisational behaviour and applying this knowledge to the solution of problems at work.
The skills developed are in line with the essential core capabilities and attributes required by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) and the Australian Psychological Society’s (APS) College of Organisational Psychologists for postgraduate professional courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
(1) To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have—1) an accredited bachelor's honours degree in psychology with at least an upper second class Honours (2A), or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA; and
(2) Applicants must be eligible for provisional registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia
and
(3) Applicants must have secured a PhD supervisor from the School of Psychological Science at the time of submitting their application.
