Master of Nursing

The establishment of the Master of Nursing at the University of Airlangga has been initiated since 2004. Master of Nursing was established with the aim to improve education faculty staff and nurses in order to master the nursing clinic and answer the demands of the community will be a quality service. This pilot begins with the collaboration between the Nursing Science Program (PSIK) Faculty of Medicine, University of Airlangga with the School of Nursing Auckland University of Technology (AUT) New Zealand. One goal of this cooperation is to help PSIK FK Airlangga University in planning and implementing the Master of Nursing program independently. In 2008 it opened the Master of Nursing whose management is under the Faculty of Medicine for the year PSIK management remains under the Faculty of Medicine. Along with the development, on June 20, 2008, by decree of the Rector number: 5404 / J03 / OT / 2008 PSIK status upgraded to the Faculty of Nursing.

In order to improve the quality of management of the Master of Nursing divert the Rector of Airlangga University Management Master Program of the Faculty of Medicine Nursing Faculty of Nursing with the consideration that the Faculty of Nursing has met the requirements for management of the Master of Nursing. With the publication of Airlangga University Rector Decree number: 100 / H3 / KR / 2010 dated February 1, 2010 the Nursing Program Master Program authorized under the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Airlangga.

These are the following courses for Master of  Nursing:

A. PROFILE OF DEPARTMENT

Basic science and medical-surgical nursing is the integration of various disciplines. There are 3 branches of science are integrated into the field of basic science groups and medical-surgical nursing, namely; basic nursing, medical-surgical nursing, and critical nursing science.

Basic nursing science departments to facilitate nursing students ready to become a professional nurse, both in science (science), attitude (attitude) and skills (skills) .To be imaged as a nurse who is knowledgeable and has a broad knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of noble character and have reliable skills is the focus of our work in the Department of Nursing Science basis.

Basic science laboratory and medical-surgical nursing facilitate all nursing students to become nurses as aspired. We have a lab that facilitates students and hone the students ability in science and skills. We condition the facilities and infrastructure that is conducive to facilitate students to achieve competence become a standard reference penyelanggaran high nursing education.
Students can prepare yourself as well as possible before facing the practice in the field (hospitals, health centers, nursing homes, etc.) and mahasiswapun can get back into our laboratory at any time, either during the academic stage and at the stage of professional education. We are ready to help any nursing students with a holistic approach in order to deliver every student towards the ideals; become a professional nurse.

 

B. LABORATORY FACILITIES
Laboratories Nursing Science base consists of:

1. Laboratory Basic human needs
We memilliki facilities and infrastructure which can be used by students to practice the fulfillment of basic human needs according to Maslow.Mulai hierarchy of physiological needs to diri.Alat-actualization needs tools that exist in our laboratories are the same tools that you would have encountered anywhere health services (hospitals, health centers, nursing homes etc) .we have set ambulatory wound (wound dressing) up to the current conventional (modern dressing), various mannequins (mannequin) to practice basic nursing actions, fluids to meet the needs of fluid, electrolytes and nutrients (carbohydrates, protein, fat), tools, consumables and tools that can be reused every year prepared to adjust the number of nursing students was increasing, and infection control

2. Communication Laboratoruim Nursing
We have the tools and communication models that can be used by students to train their ability to communicate.
