ASTROPHYSICS AND EDUCATION B.Sc (Hons)

An Astrophysics degree from Keele will prepare you for many different careers, which need not be directly related to astrophysics. How should we learn it? What is the main aim of education? How is educational success linked to students' gender, race and socio-economic background? In looking at these types of 'big' questions and thinking historically, sociologically and philosophically, the course thinks critically about all aspects of education including primary, secondary and university levels. Whether you are intending to teach or just have an interest in education, this course will make you challenge your assumptions about learning and your own school experiences! You will also have opportunities to explore these issues abroad by doing an International Year, which can lead to an enhanced degree title in ‘BA (Hons) in Education with International Year’.
