Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

 If you’ve ever dreamed of working in the Early Childhood Education and Care industry, now is the time to get qualified, as skilled educators are in high demand!

This nationally-recognized qualification will give you the knowledge and skills you need to provide care for children from birth to five years of age in early childhood education and care to set.

Our experienced teachers will teach you to work within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard to implement the approved learning framework, and support children’s wellbeing, learning, and overall development. You’ll learn how to plan and implement programs that support children to learn through play in a safe and supported environment, as well as how to ensure the health and safety of children, and provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting.

As part of the course, you’ll also learn how to identify and respond to children and young people at risk, develop cultural competence and promote Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultural safety, as well as work legally and ethically within the industry.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

This course has the following essential entry requirements:

For entry, applicants must show evidence that they have a Registered Working with Vulnerable People Card (RWVP) or a receipt that the applicant has applied for a RWVP card. A RWVP card is a requirement of the National Quality Framework Regulations for Early Education environments (if a receipt is used as evidence the card must be shown as evidence prior to stating the course).

Applicants are required to provide evidence of Year 10 or equivalent – passes in English and Maths.

  • Acceptable evidence for passes in English and Maths - Certificate or Statement for any of the below:
  • Year 10 certificate – any state
  • Satisfactory completion of Certificate II Level or above in Community Services
  • Certificate III Trade Certificate
  • Passes in year 11
  • TCE or Year 12 certificate – any state
  • School "leaver" certificate – (identifying maths/English at year 10 or 4th form level)
  • International Baccalaureate

Applicants who are unable to provide evidence of Year 10, or equivalent, in English and Maths will be required to undertake the Basic Knowledge Skills Builder (BKSB) to confirm they have the required Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills to work at an Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) exit level 2 or higher.
