MSc MSc Pre-Registration Nursing/Registered Nurse: Mental Health Nursing
The MSc Nursing (Pre-registration - Mental Health) course aims to prepare graduates for the complex, demanding, and rewarding area of mental health nursing.
The course provides graduates from a range of backgrounds with the opportunity to transfer their skills to become either a registered nurse (Mental Health). Build on your undergraduate experience and become a fully-qualified nurse in two years.
This is a pre-registration nursing course designed for graduates who would like to become qualified nurses.
The deadline for January 2022 entry is the 31st May 2021 for international applicants and the 30th September for UK applicants.
This course is not open to applicants already in possession of a nursing qualification. If you are already a qualified nurse (irrespective of country) please access our Post-Registration Programmes.
Nurses translate evidence-based knowledge to improve healthcare delivery while maintaining and emphasising the ethics of person-centred care.
The modules on this course have been designed with this in mind and aim to stimulate innovation, improve quality, manage risk, and identify areas for productive change.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Postgraduate
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
English Language: IELTS 6.5 with at least 6.0 in each section (or equivalent).
Masters, PgC or PgD - 6.5 (with at least 5.5 in each component)
MSc Occupational Therapy, MSc Physiotherapy and MA Social Work - 7.0 (with no less than 6.5 in any one section)
PhD - 6.0 in the 4 areas: Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing with an overall score of 6.5
Please note that in order to be eligible for registration with the HCPC, all test certificates must be dated within two years of the date that they receive your application.
If you need a tier 4 visa, you must check the Home Office acceptable SELT listing to ensure acceptability.
