Applicants who complete a recognized secondary/senior secondary/post-secondary/tertiary sequence of study will be assessed on the basis of an equivalent selection rank that is calculated upon application. As Australia's national university, ANU is a global representative of Australian research and education. ANU endeavors to recruit and maintain a diverse and deliberate student cohort representative not only of Australia but the world. In order to achieve these outcomes, a competitive ranking of applicants may be adjusted to ensure access to ANU is a reality for brilliant students from countries across the globe. If required, the competitive ranking may further be confirmed on the basis of demonstrating higher-level English language proficiency.

A score of 70% or more with no section less than 65%

Academic IELTS An overall score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component of the test.

TOEFL paper based test A score of 570 with a TWE* score of 4.5.

TOEFL internet based test An overall score of 80, with a minimum of 20 in Reading and Writing and 18 in Speaking and Listening.

Cambridge CAE Advanced (Post 2015) An overall score of 176 with a minimum of 169 in all sub-skills.

PTE Academic An overall score of 64 with a minimum score of 55 in each of the communicative skills.

Admission to all programs is on a competitive basis. Admission to undergraduate degrees is based on meeting the ATAR requirement or an equivalent rank derived from the following qualifications and including any eligible adjustments:

• An Australian year 12 qualification or international equivalent; OR
• A completed Associate Diploma, Associate Degree, AQF Diploma, Diploma, AQF Advanced Diploma, Graduate Certificate or international equivalent; OR
• At least one standard full-time year (1.0 FTE) in a single program of degree level study at an Australian higher education institution or international equivalent; OR
• An approved tertiary preparation course unless subsequent study is undertaken.
