NATURAL SCIENCES (INTEGRATED MASTER'S) - MSCI

Natural Sciences allows you to study a broad range of disciplines within an Integrated Master's programme.

The Integrated Master's degree (MSci) award is available only to students who choose one of the following four core disciplines: Chemistry, Environmental Science, Forensic Science, or Geology. (If you are currently studying BSc Natural Sciences at Keele, you are able to switch to the MSci route before your third year of study if you have taken one of these four core disciplines). The BSc Natural Sciences degree programme offers a range of different core disciplines.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

A LEVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • ABC/BBB
  • Including 2 Science A Levels at Grade B. Science subjects include: Applied ICT, Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Engineering, Environmental Science/Studies, Food Science/Technology, Further Maths, Geography, Geology, Human Biology, Maths, Physics, Psychology, Sports Science and Statistics.
  • The following additional entry requirements are required for students choosing these subjects as a 'core science':
  • Mathematics – grade B in A-level Mathematics 
  • Chemistry – grade B in A-level Chemistry 
  • Forensic Science – grade B in either A-Level Chemistry or Biology 
  • Astrophysics or Physics – grade B in A-level Physics or Mathematics. If Mathematics is presented without Physics please contact us for advice 

If you don't think you'll meet the entry requirements specified, you may be able to gain entry to this course via a Foundation Year.

GCSE REQUIREMENTS

  • Mathematics at B (or 6) and
  • English Language/Literature at C (or 4)

BTEC

  • DDM

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE

  • 30 points to include 2 Higher Level Science subjects at 6 or above. Science subjects include: Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geography, Geology, Maths or Physics. 

Please note Core Sciences also have specific Science subject requirements e.g. Chemistry will require Higher Level Chemistry.

ACCESS TO HE DIPLOMA REQUIREMENTS

  • Obtain Access to Higher Education Diploma with 122 UCAS Tariff points including a minimum of 30 Level 3 credits at Distinction. You must have taken sufficient Science credits, please contact Admissions for advice 

India

CISCE / CBSE / West Bengal Class XII: 60% - 90% required depending on course. Plus any subject-specific requirements. 

All other State Boards Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) / Standard Class XII: 65% - 95% required depending on course. Plus any subject-specific requirements. 

2 years of study must have been completed.

English Requirements

CISCE/CBSE Class XII: 70% or above in English, depending on course.

All other State Boards Class XII (except Punjab or Mohali School Education Board): 75% or above in English, depending on course.

Must have been completed within the last 5 years.

The study should be taught in English. Otherwise, IELTS is required.
