Bachelor of Science in Animation & Visual Effects – Visual Effects

In-person instruction is temporarily on hold due to COVID-19 safety guidelines. All new students will begin classes remotely through our Learning Management System (LMS), Zoom and other video communication and web collaboration platforms. We have adjusted our courses so you will begin with your theory-based classes first and then move into more hands-on production courses once we are allowed to return to campus. This means you can start your degree program now without worrying about missing out on our equipment, production stages, editing labs and recording studios. Thank you for helping us stay safe!

Get ready to create visual effects for movies, build environments in video games, and create characters for animated series. Animation is one of the most in-demand career fields in the entertainment industry. Our Animation Program teaches you the founding 12 principles of animation while using industry-standard software to create and design your professional animation reel. Do you want to turn your dreams into reality?

Earn your Bachelor of Science in Animation. Students pursuing their bachelor’s degree choose a concentration suited to their specific interests in Visual Effects or Game Art. Both program concentrations build on the 12 principles of animation and applied in an experiential learning environment here in Hollywood.

Turn fantasy into reality. Create out-of-this-world visuals using computer-generated imagery and VFX techniques taught by industry-experienced professionals. If you’re an aspiring compositor, visual effects specialist or 3D animator who wants to work in post-production, then our visual effects concentration is the path for you.

Our hands-on curriculum allows students to improve their technical abilities and apply those enhanced skills to their chosen profession. As a student, you’ll be exposed to every stage of the animation process from storyboarding to compositing and scene finishing.

Our Bachelor of Science in Animation Degree with a concentration in Visual Effects is 120 credit hours and 36 months in length.
Each class is studied exclusively during a four-week period allowing students to focus on one particular subject at a time.
