BSc (Hons) Information Technology Management for Business

This unique and innovative course has been developed by the Hertfordshire Business School and School of Computer Science, along with The Tech Partnership and more than 90 of the UK’s largest organizations. It was created to meet industry needs and ensure that tomorrow’s IT managers have important technology, business, project management, personal and interpersonal skills. You’ll benefit from direct industry expertise, with leading IT professionals giving guest lectures and supporting projects that tackle real business problems. You’ll also have the opportunity to network with partner organizations, which could lead to work placements or even a graduate career.

Campus Information

College Lane Campus

The main site of the university remains the College Lane campus, which houses the original Hatfield Technical College building. Notable among the buildings in this campus is the university's Learning Resource Centre, a combined library and computer centre. There is also a substantial collection of halls of residence and student houses, and the University of Hertfordshire Students' Union is headquartered at College Lane campus. The College Lane campus is also the location of Hertfordshire International College, which is part of the Navitas group, providing a direct pathway for international students to the University.

Hertfordshire’s BSc ITMB is aimed at students who want a career in the management of IT systems, including software, hardware, and web-based systems. This spans everything from identifying the need for an IT system through to the design, development, integration, and operation of an effective solution.

It’s a degree that will launch your career as an IT specialist, whether you work in the technology sector, or any other organization needing in-house IT expertise.

Our ITMB graduates go into a huge range of roles, including project manager, product manager, business analyst, product owner, IT functional analyst, QA/test analyst and IT support expert. Alternatively, you could study at the postgraduate level or set up your own company.

Our graduates are prepared for management or senior professional careers in designing, developing, and implementing technology solutions for businesses. Typical fields for our graduates include IT management, strategy and planning, system design, and IT consultancy. Almost 100% of our graduates have gone on to work or further study within six months of finishing this course.
