Graduate Diploma in Science

The Graduate Diploma in Science is a springboard from undergraduate into higher research degrees. Whether you want to step up to a Masters degree, or go all the way with a PhD, the one-year degree is a training pathway for entry into scientific research courses.

As part of the Graduate Diploma in Science, you undertake a research project in a specialised area of science, under the guidance and supervision of an academic staff member who is expert in your selected area.

You will be part of a science faculty that is top ranked in Australia in terms of scientific output (SCImago World Report 2013). Our reputation for scientific excellence attracts the best researchers and significant research funding, creating an outstanding learning environment for the next generation of scientists and global leaders.

If you choose to continue with research, the Graduate Diploma in Science will give you excellent preparation to embark on the Master of Philosophy (MPhil) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). If you don’t, your research experience will give you a competitive edge and enhanced employment opportunities, both in Australia and overseas.
