Higher Diploma in Hotel Management
Hotel Management – The program «Hotel Management» through a combination of theoretical courses, workshops and industrial training in luxury hotels in Cyprus and abroad, aims to help students to gain knowledge and skills to the extent that they can learn, adapt and develop in the hotel and catering industry.
Further, the program aims to develop the vital skills of communication, teamwork, leadership and problem solving that will give students the ability to successfully implement the duties assigned to hotels’ General Managers.
In addition, one of the most important goals of this program is to provide students with a comprehensive examination of the work related to Hotel Management. Through the various courses of this program, students will examine in detail the duties and responsibilities of hotels’ General Managers, the various areas of management, control and other functions associated with high challenges of the profession.
During their studies, Hotel Management students will not only be taught the theoretical aspects of hotel management but will also have the opportunity to get involved in all aspects related to customer service in a real hotel environment.
Upon completion of their studies, graduates will then be able to plan, organize, staff, guide, train, supervise and evaluate the functions of a successful hotel of every size and ranking, a restaurant, food departments of hospitals, places such as land development companies, nursing homes, colleges and universities, and any other form of business which deals with customers’ accommodation and food service at any level.
Furthermore, graduates of the «Hotel Management» program will have acquired the following skills: marketing and promoting sales, sign contracts safely with tour operators and other tourism organizations to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the business, gain absolute control over sales , production costs and other operating expenses, successfully fulfil their obligations to the budgets of the business, the service quality levels and many more that are essential skills for the profession of General Manager.
