Postgraduate Certificate in Maori and Indigenous Leadership

Are you a professional working in an Iwi, Maori organisation, or another body that works with Maori communities looking to progress into leadership? Would you like to take on a position of influence within the growing Maori economy, currently valued at $40 billion in Aotearoa New Zealand? This Postgraduate Certificate aims to engage participants in critical analysis of models of indigenous development at an advanced level, preparing students for further study in the area of M?ori and Indigenous Leadership.

PSW Opportunity

  • During study, all students on a student visa can work up to 20 hours per week during semester and full time during vacations.
  • After completing Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Qualification, a student will get a three years open post-study work visa.
  • After completing Level 8 Post Graduate courses of 1 year, students get 1 year PSW.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Academic entry requirements

The Postgraduate Certificate in M?ori and Indigenous Leadership (PGCertMIL) is open to applicants who have:

  • at least three years professional experience in the M?ori sector; and
  • either have a bachelor's degree with a B Grade Point Average in their 300-level majoring courses; or
  • been approved by the Head of School.
