Here at The University of Notre Dame Australia, we pride ourselves on creating job-ready graduates who are in great demand in the workforce and this is especially true of our Education programs. Our Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood & Care: 0-8 years) degree provides you with a qualification to work with young children in both childcare and school settings. This degree includes an extensive workplace component in both childcare centres and schools, amounting to 32 weeks over four years.

Have you always had a special interest in the care and education of young children? Can you imagine the joy that comes with helping a child’s learning and development? If so, the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood & Care: 0-8 Years) is the ideal degree for you.
This highly-structured and intensive program qualifies you to work with children from birth to eight years, in both childcare and school settings. Designed to be completed over four years of full-time study, the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood & Care: 0-8 Years) is a perfect combination of theory and practice. The program covers traditional subjects such as English, Mathematics and the Humanities plus special early childhood education courses such as Play and Pedagogy. In addition, you will be required to undertake 32 weeks of practical experience in a range of childcare and classroom settings.  A unique feature is that this practicum experience directly counts towards your degree.

Please note: Education students in Western Australia must pass the national Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students (LANTITE). The test is administered externally by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER).  You must register and pay for the test.
