Certificate III in Cabinet Making

This course will give you a range of skills and knowledge in kitchen, bathroom, installation and furniture making for the manufacture of furniture and cabinetry products.

You will learn to use a range of specialist machinery, as well as preparing and working from computer-aided drawings and associated cutting lists.

In regards to each machine, you will learn about the material you are processing and how to use the machine itself - from basic to high-end production machinery such as computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines.

You will be taught the correct setup, operational, basic maintenance, troubleshooting of machining and construction methods for kitchen, bathroom and furniture-making process.

We offer a series of free workshops to give you an edge in the job market. Following the latest Victorian Government Coronavirus (COVID-19) advice, workshops are currently offered online only. These include:
Workshop 1: The standout applicant - How well does your resume attract attention in a competitive environment? In this workshop, you’ll learn how to identify and present your strengths to prospective employers.
Workshop 2: Resume preparation - If you’re unsure how to write an effective cover letter and resume, this workshop is your chance to learn. The workshop also covers how to answer key selection criteria.
Workshop 3: The hidden job market  - Many job vacancies are never advertised. This workshop will help you learn how to look beyond the traditional job market to find these hidden opportunities.

Funded to support the Government’s major infrastructure projects, this program provides you with the entry–level skills and knowledge necessary to gain employment in civil construction.

  • Obtain your White Card to work safely in the construction industry

MetroHub
MetroHub, our partnership with tunnels and stations contractor CYP Design and Construction, is the integrated recruitment, employment and training centre for the Metro Tunnels’ $6 billion Tunnels and Stations work package.
The Tunnels and Stations package of works will create 5,000 jobs including more than 500 apprentices, trainees and engineering cadets, all supported and facilitated by MetroHub.

MetroHub is working with Holmesglen Skills and Jobs Centres to provide priority job seekers with a gateway onto the project, together with professional development opportunities and specialised employment support.

Students entering this program will be required to use language in the broader sense that uses speaking, listening, reading and writing to assist in their learning capabilities.

They will need to have an acceptable level of literacy that allows them to comprehend reading and writing as well as being able to demonstrate the skills of speaking and listening.

Numeracy requirements the students will need for the program are based around basic mathematical skills required for simple measurements and calculations as well as being able to comprehend plans.
