Diploma of Screen and Media
This course teaches job ready skills and knowledge in screen and media production. Covering important areas such as: film production, video editing, visual effects, sound techniques, screen writing, industry trends and digital streaming on different platforms.
This course offers electives in animation, radio and TV or short film, and covers a range of areas specifically design to cover these areas.
You will produce and create different content for four different genres such as: documentary, short film, comedy and television.
Learn the skills to make and edit your own podcasts, promos and interview features. Develop presentation and voice skills, gain the knowledge of a real industry environment and learn how to pitch your work to various production studios.
Enjoy the benefits of our unique partnership with community television station Channel 31, which allows you to create and produce your own television show HIT TV.
Key study areas include researching and writing for film, animation, radio and television, recording and editing sound for different genres, and filming and editing video packages for both traditional formats and digital services.
You will also gain experience in various crew roles in single and multi-camera productions.
The Diploma of Screen and Media also covers areas such as media law, creative thinking, job seeking and maximising social media engagement.
This course offers three electives.
In the animation elective you'll be provided training in animation software, lighting, camera and be introduced to industry level animation technologies and techniques.
The advanced film elective you will develop your cinematic skills gain an understanding of complex camera techniques, lighting and rigs.
In the radio and TV elective stream, you will create and produce radio podcasts and explore digital streaming of content to be delivered using different cross platform formats.
