People are creating, consuming and sharing media in new and innovative ways. If you’re passionate about working in advertising, delivering and sharing communication, strategies and campaign concepts, then our course will set you up with the tools to succeed. You can find a career in the creative industry, consultancy, public relations, charity and public sectors, as well as across a range of markets and businesses. The course covers core topics such as brand management, campaign planning, public relations, social media marketing and digital advertising, you’ll be equipped with the creative thinking, communication, and strategy skills required for an interesting career.

Build your portfolio in a live workshop environment
During your advertising course, you'll develop your understanding of the roles that PR, advertising and branding play in every aspect of society. But it’s not just about the theory - you'll also build a portfolio of work by planning and implementing campaigns, producing adverts and other kinds of promotional content for all sorts of media.

You'll learn in our live TV studio and workshop environment using cutting edge technology. Our digital media workshops are equipped with the latest computers so you can learn video and audio editing, music production and everything else you need to know.

You’ll also learn to use the latest industry standard software such as the Adobe Creative Suite.

We take advantage of our location at the heart of the industry. London is the global centre for advertising and PR, and we use this to host networking opportunities and visits to industry related events. You'll also take part in a work placement to build your professional network - a helping hand when kick-starting your career.

Our personalised approach gives you the support you need to succeed as a student. While you're an undergraduate or foundation year student, you’ll have a Personal Tutor directly related to your course. If you need support with academic writing, numeracy and library skills, we’ll be sure to provide it. Our Student Learning and Graduate Academic Assistants have studied your subject and can support you based on their own experience.

Middlesex University has a flexible and personalised approach to admissions and we accept applications from students with a wide range of qualifications and a combination of qualifications.

Applications from mature candidates without formal qualifications are welcomed, provided they can demonstrate appropriate levels of relevant ability and experience.

If you are unable to meet the entry requirements for this course you may still be eligible for our Foundation year course. This is an extra year of study to prepare you for the full degree. For more information see our Foundation Year in Media page.
