If you want to teach English to speakers of other languages (ESOL), this PGCE provides you with the skills you need, including teaching and classroom management. We focus on teaching in colleges, adult education centres, art colleges, healthcare or community organisations. Our course also includes training for public services and a wide range of commercial and voluntary organisations.

You will explore how language is acquired and analyse a variety of innovative approaches and resources for the teaching of ESOL, including the key skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening. This is taught in a range of contexts and embedded models. You will plan, deliver, assess and evaluate teaching and learning strategies, and learn to empower learners with your enthusiasm for language learning.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

For entry to our Master's programmes, you will need to have met the following:

Four year bachelor degree with a minimum of 55% in Final Year (However, if graduating from one of the top universities :Pune, Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Osmania and JNTU a minimum of 50% in final year is required)
70% in English in Standard XII or English language requirements

Note: More specialised courses require four year bachelor degree with a minimum of 65% in final year.(However, if graduating from one of the top universities :Pune, Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Osmania and JNTU a minimum of 60% in final year is required)
