Our PGCE offers you vital skills to teach English to speakers of other languages. This full-time course leads to a qualification for teaching in further education colleges, adult education centres, art colleges, healthcare and community organisations. Our course also includes training for public services and a wide range of commercial and voluntary organisations.
While training with us, you will learn essential teaching skills and classroom management. Discover how language and literacy is acquired, and review and analyse innovative approaches to teaching English, including the four key skills - reading, writing, speaking and listening. Learn how to generate enthusiasm for language learning, and how to challenge and empower your own students

Avery Hill is the ideal setting for students looking to study in London. Not only does it have a campus university vibe with teaching and living space, it is also just 30 minutes by train from central London. Avery Hill Campus comprises two sites: Mansion House and Southwood.

For entry to our Master's programmes, you will need to have met the following:
- Four year bachelor degree with a minimum of 55% in Final Year (However, if graduating from one of the top universities :Pune, Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Osmania and JNTU a minimum of 50% in final year is required)
- 70% in English in Standard XII or English language requirements
Note: More specialised courses require four year bachelor degree with a minimum of 65% in final year.(However, if graduating from one of the top universities :Pune, Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Osmania and JNTU a minimum of 60% in final year is required)
