Business Management and Finance BA (Hons)

Our Business Management and Finance program is a career-focused course that will enable you to combine business and financial knowledge to critically understand business strategy and acquire a range of skills such as financial accounting techniques and research skills necessary for evaluation, synthesis, and analysis, sought by many employers.  

You’ll be able to gain a broad understanding of business concepts, models, and methods, with an increased focus on strategic management as you progress through the course. You’ll also be equipped with a critical and comprehensive understanding of the nature and meaning of corporate strategy, to master your ability to assess the strategic position of corporations operating in complex global markets where the economic outlook is not looking good.  

The finance element of this course will help develop your analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong focus on investments and financial markets, including an introduction to some of the main principles of corporate financial decision-making and their impact in real-life financial settings.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Entry criteria

  • Normally 112 UCAS points from at least two A-levels or equivalent, including one A or AS Level of the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics or Statistics
  • Normally BTEC Extended Diploma at DMM in Mathematics, Physics or Statistics
  • A-Level General Studies is accepted. Points from AS Level study not taken to A-Level study are counted
  • Five GCSEs at grades A*–C including English Language plus Maths at grade B
  • International Baccalaureate: 26+ points including a quantitative subject at SL or HL level
  • QAA Access to Higher Education course not normally accepted as applicants will need to have studied a quantitative subject at A or AS Level equivalent in Maths, Physics or Statistics

India

  • Minimum of 65% average in your four best subjects (excluding Hindi) in Standard 12. We may also check your standard 10 results in English and Maths.

2nd year - 3rd-year Undergraduate:

  • Entry to year 2 or 3 may be possible. You will need to supply detailed information including courses taken, grades achieved, syllabus, and a grading guide.

Sri Lanka

  • 55-65% in three A-levels, depending on the course you choose.
