Economics and Finance BSc (Hons)

On the Economics and Finance BSc (Hons) at DMU you will develop your analytical and problem solving skills in the area of applied finance and economics and understand how economic policy is formulated in the context of contemporary economic events.

You will learn key economic and finance theory and understand how economic policy is formulated. The course begins by focusing on a basic mathematical and statistical theory for finance, complemented by the theoretical study of economics, practical computer applications and business skills for economists.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Entry criteria

  • Normally 112 UCAS points from at least two A-levels or equivalent, including one A or AS Level of the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics or Statistics
  • Normally BTEC Extended Diploma at DMM in Mathematics, Physics or Statistics
  • Five GCSEs at grades A*–C including English Language plus Maths at grade B
  • International Baccalaureate: 28+ Points including a quantitative subject at SL or HL level
  • QAA Access to Higher Education course not normally accepted as applicants will need to have studied a quantitative subject at A or AS Level equivalent in Maths, Physics or Statistics

India

  • Minimum of 65% average in your four best subjects (excluding Hindi) in Standard 12. We may also check your standard 10 results in English and Maths.

2nd year - 3rd-year Undergraduate:

  • Entry to year 2 or 3 may be possible. You will need to supply detailed information including courses taken, grades achieved, syllabus, and a grading guide.

Sri Lanka

  • 55-65% in three A-levels, depending on the course you choose.
