Marketing BA (Hons)

On the Marketing BA (Hons) at DMU you will learn how to analyze real business problems and provide creative marketing solutions. You will be taught by lecturers who draw on their extensive business experience and established links with industry, to deliver innovative learning that has a direct application to the real world of business. Some of the areas you will study on the course are how to develop an advertising campaign, produce a new brand concept, develop a brand extension, and write a feature article.

You will also learn how to analyze consumer buying behavior, collect and interpret market research, and consider strategic implications behind marketing decision making. In the first year, you will study key marketing topics that have a major impact on all areas of business activity. In years two and three you will select from a wide variety of more specialized modules such as digital marketing, international marketing, brand management, and advertising, and promotion.

Job Opportunity Potential

A degree in Marketing opens up a whole range of career opportunities such as digital marketing, brand management, advertising and marketing communications, public relations, customer insight, or market research.

PSW Opportunity

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Entry criteria

  • A typical offer is 112 UCAS points from at least two A-Levels, or
  • BTEC National Diploma/Extended Diploma at DMM

Plus, five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Mathematics or equivalent.

Alternative qualifications include:

  • Pass Access with 30 Level 3 credits at Merit (or equivalent) with English (Language or Literature) and Maths GCSE required as separate qualifications at grade 4

We will normally require students to have had a break from full-time education before undertaking the Access course.

•International Baccalaureate: 26+ points

India

  • Minimum of 65% average in your four best subjects (excluding Hindi) in Standard 12. We may also check your standard 10 results in English and Maths.

Sri Lanka

  • 55-65% in three A-levels, depending on the course you choose.

Bangladesh

  • A-levels or a recognized Foundation Course
  • GPA 5.0 out of 5.0 including 4.0 in English and Maths
