Health and Wellbeing in Society BSc (Hons)
This degree course is an interprofessional and dynamic science course, providing an opportunity for students to understand and analyze contemporary developments in health and social care.
We’ve structured the course to enable students to tailor their learning to fit specific career interests, build their confidence, and acquire specialist skills sought by employers.
You’ll study personal and academic development, the psychological and sociological theory of health and illness, health and welfare, health improvement and lifestyle, social research methods, health and disease in communities, and health promotion and public health. You’ll also have the opportunity to choose from elective modules in year three including aging and health, mental health and wellbeing, and social exclusion and health. In addition, your final year will give you the opportunity to apply the knowledge you have learned by producing a health intervention report, where you will make recommendations on how to improve access to healthcare for all.
