This MRes Agriculture and Food Economics at Reading will prepare you for doctoral studies in agricultural and food economics and marketing. It provides rigorous training in research methods to prepare students for research careers in academia or in non-academic organisations.
This master's programme will:
prepare you for doctoral studies in agricultural and food economics and marketing.
equip you with applied economics, marketing and quantitative and qualitative research techniques.
give you the opportunity to apply your learning to a diverse range of contemporary farm, food and rural issues in both developed and developing country contexts.
Class sizes vary by subject and module, but emphasis is always placed on good contact time with lecturers. Learning occurs across a variety of lectures, seminars, tutorials and field trips.
As a student at Reading, you will have access to all the University's internet, printing and scanning facilities, as well as a full range of statistical and econometric software. Excellent opportunities exist for research, networking and personal development within each programme, as well as access to first-class study resources and employability support.
On joining this course, you will become a member of the School's Graduate Institute of International Development, Agriculture and Economics (GIIDAE). As a GIIDAE student, you will have the option of undertaking a placement during the summer period, however this is not a requirement of the degree.
