Physics with Astrophysics MPhys Honours (F3FM)

Our four-year Physics with Astrophysics MPhys Honours degree covers fundamental and applied physics and includes an integrated year of Master's-level study.

The first three years are similar to our Physics with Astrophysics BSc Honours degree. You will explore the fundamental pillars of physics and study topics such as:

• quantum mechanics
• fluid dynamics
• photonics

Your final year includes advanced research-driven modules to extend your knowledge of your subject, along with applied, theoretical and computational physics. Specialising in astrophysics, you'll also cover: 

• galaxies
• astronomical fluids
• general relativity

You will work with our academic staff to develop an extended research project in an area of mutual interest. You will graduate with a deep understanding of physics and be well prepared for a career in physical science or research, including study for higher degrees.
