The MTheol consists of a thesis in theology or religious studies.

You can explore sacred texts and traditions and the roles these play in different cultural, global and historical contexts.

Our program recognizes the emerging cross-disciplinary features within the study of theology and religion and gives you the opportunity to focus on an area that interests you.

PSW Opportunity

  • During study, all students on a student visa can work up to 20 hours per week during semester and full time during vacations.
  • After completing Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Qualification, a student will get a three years open post-study work visa.
  • After completing Level 8 Post Graduate courses of 1 year, students get 1 year PSW.

Minimum program requirements

  • Normally this requires a completed bachelor honors degree or postgraduate diploma from New Zealand, or an acceptable equivalent postgraduate qualification from a recognized university (or similar) overseas.
  • One year of postgraduate study
