Sport and Performance Psychology, M.S

The Master of Science in Sport and Performance Psychology is designed to provide opportunities for advanced study and applied research in sport and performance psychology. Students work with an advisor to design a coherent program of study totaling 30 units. This includes courses in research methods and statistics, along with courses from a broad area of topics including, but not limited to: applied sport psychology intervention, psychology of coaching, psychology of injury, psychobiology of sport and exercise, and social implications of sport. Students interested in pursuing the Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) designation with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) may include courses in counseling as well. Additionally, students may incorporate an internship, supervised work experience opportunity, or an independent study course into their 
program. The degree requirements conclude with a culminating experience which will take the form of a Master’s Thesis, a Master’s Project, or a Comprehensive Exam.

PSW Opportunity

Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).

Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.

Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).

STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

  • All university marksheets, transcripts and *degree certificate with literal English translation. Secondary school (high school) documentations are not required.  
    *Degree certificate (or diploma) is available at the time of applying for admission.
