Asian Studies (Associate Degree)

Take the first step toward a career in international trade, consular or diplomatic services, immigration, tourism, journalism, finance, marketing, intercultural communication and more with this two-year Associate of Arts Degree in Asian Studies.

In this program, you will explore topics in religion, history, politics and culture, as well as take several language courses to develop an intermediate proficiency in either Chinese (Mandarin) or Japanese.

The Facilities & Ancillary Services Department is responsible for planning and developing Douglas College facilities, operating related services and for the ongoing maintenance of the college and its equipment. The Department's goal is to maintain buildings, grounds and equipment at a high operational level, and to provide students, faculty, and staff with a well maintained and pleasing campus environment.

  •    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.

For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.

If your program was 2 years or more

  •    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.

If you completed more than 1 program

  •    You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.

Each of the programs you completed -

  • must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length
