Academic Foundations (Certificate)
Not sure what you want to study? Explore your options while accumulating credits - and without wasting time or money - with the Certificate in Academic Foundations. With this flexible, one-year credential, you can (with our help) build your own program while exploring your interests in the arts and sciences. This certificate is designed for maximum transferability to programs at Douglas College or other institutions.
You'll take part in classroom discussions and give presentations, experiment in the lab and attend lectures to develop and enhance your critical-thinking, writing, research and presentation skills, competencies that are crucial to success in your future career or further education.

COQUITLAM CAMPUS
The Facilities & Ancillary Services Department is responsible for planning and developing Douglas College facilities, operating related services and for the ongoing maintenance of the college and its equipment. The Department's goal is to maintain buildings, grounds and equipment at a high operational level, and to provide students, faculty, and staff with a well maintained and pleasing campus environment.

If your program was less than 8 months
- You aren’t eligible for a PGWP.
If your program was more than 8 months but less than 2 years
- We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.
For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.
If your program was 2 years or more
- We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.
If you completed more than 1 program
- You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.
Each of the programs you completed -
- must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length

Applicants must meet the admission requirements listed below:
General College Admission Requirements
- Applicants must have an undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada or an equivalent credential from an approved institution of a different country. Any applicant who earned their credential in a language other than English must meet the Douglas College English language proficiency requirement.
Please note: to be successful in the program, it is strongly recommended that applicants have a solid foundation in Math and have achieved a grade of at least a C in Math 11 (Precalculus or Foundations) or equivalent.
