Accounting (Post-Baccalaureate Diploma)

Interested in pursuing a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation? Get started with the two-year Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Accounting. This program is designed for students who hold a bachelor’s degree in a discipline other than commerce or business administration. 

Once you graduate you'll have the skills to secure intermediate-level accounting positions in financial reporting, taxation, management accounting and auditing.

PSW Opportunity

If your program was less than 8 months

  •    You aren’t eligible for a PGWP.

If your program was more than 8 months but less than 2 years

  •    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.

For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.

If your program was 2 years or more

  •    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.

If you completed more than 1 program

  •    You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.

Each of the programs you completed -

  • must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must have an undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada or an equivalent credential from an approved institution of a different country. Any applicant who earned their credential in a language other than English must meet the Douglas College English language proficiency requirement.

This program is intended for students with degrees in areas other than Business. Applicants whose undergraduate degree is in business administration should also look at the Post-Degree Diploma in Accounting program to determine if this is a more suitable program for you.

English Language Proficiency

  • Minimum overall score of 6.5 (no band below 6.0 for Post-Degree and Post-Baccalaureate programs)
