Advanced Human Resource Management (Post-Baccalaureate Diploma)

Want to get into Human Resources but don’t have a business background? The Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Advanced Human Resource Management teaches you the fundamental business concepts you need to understand and succeed in Human Resources.

You’ll take business courses in management essentials, academic writing, business law, introductory marketing and more. In your second year, you’ll take advanced HR courses in occupational health and safety, employment law, labour relations, workforce planning, talent management and more.

Designed for post-baccalaureate students, this program prepares you for part-time paid or volunteer positions that complement your studies. You’ll participate in career-building workshops, one-on-one coaching sessions, career fairs, networking with employers, peer-led leadership meetings and more. Once you graduate, you’ll get the continued support, skills and knowledge you need to find a full-time job in your field.

If your program was less than 8 months

You aren’t eligible for a PGWP.

If your program was more than 8 months but less than 2 years

We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.

For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.

If your program was 2 years or more

We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.

If you completed more than 1 program

You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.

Each of the programs you completed -

must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

Students will be accepted to the Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Health Information Management (PBD-HIM) program on a first qualified, first admitted basis.

In addition to meeting the Douglas College General Admission Requirements, applicants must meet the following program admission requirements:

Academic Credential.

Applicants must have attained an undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada, or an equivalent credential from an approved institution in a different country.

Any applicant who earned their credential in a language other than English must meet the Douglas College English language proficiency requirement.
