The New York Film Academy Australia’s Screenwriting program provides an environment that brings aspiring screenwriters to a point where they can meet the standards of the industry. New York Film Academy Australia delivers the nationally recognised program CUA60620 - Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media with selected subjects focusing on screenwriting. Students learn through taking action, writing intensively, completing several projects, and listening to constructive peer and professor evaluations.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

CUA51020 - Diploma of Screen and Media

  • High School Certificate or Equivalent (see below)
  • English Language Proficiency at Appropriate Level (e.g. Academic IELTS 5.5)*
  • In-person or Skype Interview with Faculty Delegate
  • Certified Copy of Passport

Equivalence to High School Certificate

  • Australian Qualification at or Above AQF Level 4 OR
  • Completion of Core Skills Profile for Adult - Numeracy and Reading at or Above Exit Level 3

CUA60620 - Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media

  • Diploma of Screen and Media (NYFA) or Equivalent (See Below)
  • In-person or Skype Interview with Faculty Delegate

Equivalence to NYFAA Diploma

  • CUA51020 - Diploma of Screen and Media OR
  • Worked in Relevant Part of Industry for Min. Two Years AND
  • Completion of Core Skills Profile for Adult - Numeracy and Reading at or Above Exit Level 3

SHORT TERM WORKSHOPS
 

  • Must be 18 Years of Age or Older
  • Copy of Passport or Government-approved Photo ID
  • Phone Interview with Recruitment Representative
  • Upon acceptance to the program a deposit of $500 is required to reserve your place. This will be applied to your program tuition fee.

YOUTH AND TEEN CAMPS

  • Ages 13-17 years
    • Must be AT LEAST 13 years old on the first day of the teen camp
    • Must be UNDER THE AGE OF 18 on the first day of the teen camp
    • Cannot attend if you are in high school but under the age of 13 or have already turned 18 years old as of the first day of the teen camp
