EM Normandie Business School

1871
Jules and Jacques Siegfried, who specialised in cotton trading, founded the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce du Havre (ESC Le Havre)
1947
For the first time, ESC Le Havre programme is approved by The Ministry of National Education
1977
Creation of IPER by the Le Havre Chamber of Commerce, the Grand Port Maritime du Havre and the Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées (Paris)
1982
Creation the ESC Normandie Group by the Caen and Le Havre Chambers of Commerce
1987
Creation of SUP Europe C.E.S.E.C Caen, an undergraduate programme in 3 years,  later extended to 4 years
1988
The School became a member of the Schools of Management Chapter of the Conférence des grandes écoles (CGE)
1991
Creation of the MS Territorial Development Str@tegy
1997
Creation of the MS Entrepreneurship based on the HEC Entrepreneurs pedagogical model
1998
An agreement was signed with the Paris Chamber of Commerce and the HEC Paris Group to introduce the HEC Entrepreneurs teaching approach to the entire ESC Le Havre programme
2003
The Ministry of National Education, Higher Education & Research conferred on the ESC Le Havre 5-year accredited programme the right to award the Master’s qualification for an initial period of 3 years
2004
The ESC Normandie Group became officially the École de Management de Normandie with its own legal structure. Jean-Guy Bernard was appointed as Director General of this new institution.
2005
An associate Campus was opened in Deauville
Creation of the MSc Tourism and Leisure Management, then followed by the MSc International Events Management in 2006
Creation of the Métis Research Lab
Creation of an Executive MBA – Managing by Project
2006
Creation of the EM Normandie Grande Ecole Programme, accredited as a 5-year Master’s degree-awarding programme, through the merger of two existing programmes  (ESC Le Havre and SUP Europe).
Opening of the MSc Supply Chain Management
2007
EM Normandie changed its status to become a private law non profit association under the 1901 Act
2008
Creation of Réseau EM Normandie, the association for alumni and students of all EM Normandie programmes, renamed Association Alumni Normandie in 2017
State accreditation as a 5-year Master’s degree was renewed for 6 years, and the Master’s qualification for another 3 years, for the  Grande Ecole Programme
Opening of the Bachelor's in International Management, a state-accredited, 3-year undergraduate programme
Opening of the MSc Cross-Cultural Marketing & Negotiation
2009
Opening of the MS Human Resource Manager
2010
EM Normandie joined the Union des Grandes Ecoles Indépendantes (UGEI) as an associate member, and then as a full member on 1st September 2012
The MS Marketing, Communication and Agrifood Engineering, was launched in partnership with UniLaSalle, a Graduate School of Agricultural Engineering in Rouen
2011
The EM Normandie was a pioneer institution for "Cordées de l'entrepreneuriat", a new social outreach scheme in favour of starting businesses in sensitive urban zones, launched at national level by the Commissioner for Diversity and Equal Opportunity
Launching of the Continuing Education Grande Ecole Programme, on an e-learning basis. The first experience in Europe of this type of degree at graduate level
A 3-year EFMD EPAS accreditation was awarded to the Grande Ecole Programme (pre-experience)
Grade de Master was renewed for the Grande Ecole Programme for another 4 years
Opening of the Post-Graduate Degree in Information Systems Management, listed in the National Directory of Professional Certification (RNCP niveau I), in collaboration with the "Ecole de Management des Systèmes d'Information" at Grenoble Ecole de Management
2012
The Bachelor's in International Management was accredited as a 3-year undergraduate degree for 4 years
EM Normandie became an active member of the Union des Grandes Ecoles Indépendantes (UGEI)
2013
The BSIS (Business School Impact System) certification was delivered by the FNEGE, a scheme that measures the impact of the School on its environment
Opening of the Paris campus
Launching of  La SmartEcole®, a collaborative digital learning ecosystem within the Grande Ecole Programme
Creation of the "Observatoire de la pédagogie et des métiers de demain" , chaired by Paris-Dauphine University Emeritus Professor Dominique Roux, also President of Bolloré Télécom
2014
The international EPAS accreditation of the EM Normandie Grande Ecole Programme  was renewed for another 5 years
International Accreditation by  AACSB was awarded for 5 years
Opening of a new campus in Oxford
Creation of the Institut de l'Innovation et du Développement de l'Entrepreneuriat (InsIDE)
2015
Opening of the Container, the digital ‘canteen’ in Le Havre, co-founded by EM Normandie and CODAH, CCI Le Havre, Club TIC Normandie and LHackadémie
The 5-year master’s accreditation and the Grade Master were renewed for the EM Normandie Grande Ecole Programme
2016
EFMD EQUIS accreditation was awarded for 3 years
Opening of the MS Start-up and digital development
Inauguration of the Caen Campus extension
3-year undergraduate accreditation was renewed for the Bachelor's in International Management for another 5 years
2017
Opening of the Dublin campus
Opening of the M2/ Master of Science Banking, Finance and FinTech
Launching of the MS Marketing Strategy & Business Development
2018
The construction work on the new Le Havre Campus started, which will open in 2020
Opening of the HackUarium, the social room dedicated to the management of social network
2019
The international AACSB Accreditation was renewed for another 5 years
