Bachelor of Business (Accounting)

A Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) covers fundamental knowledge and skills in the key areas of accounting, finance, economics, quantitative analysis, information systems, and business and taxation law. A commerce degree provides a global perspective and work-oriented educational experience, establishing best practice for a long-term professional career.
This degree is endorsed by Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CA ANZ) and the Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) Australia. It’s designed to meet the global demand for high-quality commerce graduates, providing you with the opportunity to specialise in accounting and/or finance. The course includes an industry placement as well as an opportunity to undertake a global learning experience with a partner institution. The Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) consists of 24 subjects: 17 core subjects and 7 elective subjects to specialise in Accounting, Finance or both. Industry is embedded in our curriculum. You will get hands-on experience with industry-leading software used in the industry, including Xero, and you'll have the opportunity to become Xero-certified.

PSW Opportunity

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

  • Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
  • Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
  • Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
  • The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:

  • Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
  • Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
  • Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
  • PhD students can stay upto 4 years

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

  • A minimum of successful completion of Year 10 or equivalent (e.g Certificate 3)
  • A minimum of 3 years of full-time relevant, cognate work experience demonstrated by a resume.
  • Minimum age of 21 AND successful completion of readiness assessment provided by the University.

Some courses may require a higher overall score and/or sub-score(s) for entry. These will be specified in the entry requirements of the course. Students will generally need to have achieved one of the following for entry into their chosen course:

  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 6 with 5.5 in all areas
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) 60 with a minimum of 18 in writing
  • Cambridge English Scale Score 169 with 162 in all areas
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) 50 with 42 in all areas
