Learn about our legal system and the human mind with a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Psychological Studies at Victoria University.

This five-year double degree lets you combine a law qualification with psychological studies. You’ll gain a global and social-justice perspective and an understanding of human behaviour, motivation, relationships, communication and cognitive processes.

You’ll examine how the mind works and develop broad legal knowledge, gaining the analytical skills to understand yourself and your clients.

This course prepares you for jobs where there is an interaction between the law, psychology and mental health. You’ll also be on the pathway to work as a lawyer or psychologist.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

FOR INDIA

Indian School Certificate (issued by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations

  • Completed with an overall average of at least 65% average of a minimum of 4 core academic subjects (excluding local language).

All India Senior School (issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education)

  • Completed with an overall average of at least 65% average of a minimum of 4 core academic subjects (excluding local language). 

Higher Secondary Certificate/ Intermediate Certificate from State Board

  • Completed with an overall average of at least 70% Average of a minimum of 4 core academic subjects (excluding local language). Qualifications are assessed on an individual basis.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

You will need to provide evidence that you have achieved one of the following levels of English language proficiency:

  • IELTS (Academic module): Overall score of 6.0 (no band less than 6.0)
  • TOEFL Internet: Overall score of 67. Section score no less than:
    > Listening: 12
    > Speaking: 18
    > Reading: 15
    > Writing: 21
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE): Overall score of 50-57 (no section score less than 50)
  • University of Cambridge - Advanced (CAE): Overall score of 169. No individual band less than 169.
  • VU English - English for Academic Purposes (EAP) (Level 5): achieved.

IELTS, TOEFL, PTE and CAE: These tests must be taken no more than two years prior to commencing your course.

In some cases we will accept test results from other methods of examination not listed above.
