This four-year dual program will provide you with a focused background in computer science and in-depth knowledge and expertise you'll gain through the mathematics program.
Computer science combines the theoretical studies of algorithms and data structures with practical training in implementing them in hardware and software systems. Skills learnt in this program are used in fields ranging from bioinformatics to digital humanities.
You'll develop the strong analytical, logical and development expertise necessary to advance computing and its applications. You can specialise in cyber security, data science, machine learning, programming languages or scientific computing.
In the mathematics component, you'll develop a comprehensive specialised knowledge in one field of mathematics or a high level of sophistication in the applications of mathematics generally.
Modern computation, advances in scientific technology and the increasing production of data have all increased how mathematics is applied beyond traditional areas, opening up your career opportunities to include fields such as finance, economics, information technology and molecular biology.

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.
- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Entry scores
All international applicants need to have successfully completed Queensland Year 12 (or an equivalent qualification) and meet the minimum entry score for this program.
Prerequisites
Queensland Year 12 or equivalent English, Mathematics B; plus two of Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, Mathematics C or Physics, at least one of which must be Chemistry or Physics.
