BACHELORS OF Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences / Journalism
This dual program will equip you with a deep understanding of the principles and practices of journalism, combined with studies in the fields of health, exercise and nutrition.
In your human movement and nutrition sciences program, you’ll explore human movement and nutrition across the lifespan and discover the roles that food, physical activity, exercise and sleep play in our health, the prevention of chronic disease, and sporting performance.
You’ll develop the knowledge and skills to address two of the most important modifiable risk factors for chronic disease – physical activity and nutrition.
With the Bachelor of Journalism alongside, you’ll be ready to shape the global health conversation and make a real impact on the health of communities.
Armed with an in-depth understanding of the social, behavioural and biological sciences influencing health outcomes, graduates will gain an edge in the competitive journalism industry.
Combining health and journalism expertise will prepare you for a career in health journalism, sports journalism, communications, public relations and more.

St Lucia
Situated on 114 hectares of Brisbane River-bound land, UQ’s main campus is a vibrant mix of majestic sandstone buildings and contemporary architecture, landscaped gardens and lakes. Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.
- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Entry scores
All international applicants need to have successfully completed Queensland Year 12 (or an equivalent qualification) and meet the minimum entry score for this program.
Prerequisites
Queensland Year 12 or equivalent English, Mathematics B; plus two of Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, Mathematics C or Physics, at least one of which must be Chemistry or Physics.
